The final exams from Spring 2003 and Fall 2005 are here and here. Note that the material I am covering this semester is significantly different, so many of the questions on the older exams are not relevant to this semester.
Homework 2 has been posted. Each problem carries equal weight. You can turn it in for EXTRA CREDIT if turned in by 5/5/08.
A number of students have asked me late about forming a project team. If you still do not have a teammate, see me.
Homework 1 has been posted. It has many problems. Each problem carries equal weight, so do not spend too much time on any one problem or provide overly long answers. I will issue homeworks more frequently for the rest of the semester.
There are only a few books left in the bookstore. The book is available at Amazon.com.
Course Information
The syllabus contains basic course information on grading, location, etc. The course will consist of lectures, homeworks, a paper, project and final exam.
Schedule
The schedule of lecture topics, reading, exams,
and assignments is given below. The schedule will be updated throughout the
semester. A given topic may extend over several classes. The approximate start
date is listed. Students are expected to read the related material prior to
lecture. The readings are out of the textbook unless otherwise specified. Those
dates when I am out of town may have a guest lecture, which will be announced.
The notes consist of PowerPoint (ppt)
lecture slides. Do not redistribute these slides without permission.
