CPSC 321: Computer Architecture

Announcements:  

11/29/06: There will be a practice test on this Friday (12/01/06) to mock the final exam. The topics will be the ones covered mostly after the mid-term exam. It will not be used for your grading. However, you should complete the practice-test and turn in the booklet. Next week, you can also make appointment with TA and me to verify your ability to solve those problems and get additional hints to solve similar problems.

11/12/2006: The Project 3 has been released with Deadline Nov 27th to complete it.

Students who would like to meet regarding their midterm grade must do so this week (11/13-11/17) by appointment.

10/30/2006:

10/24/2006: Graded exercises will be done in the class while you are learning datapath design from Chapter 5.. You need to review the lecture materials regularly as we cover them in the class. You shall be able to design various part of the datapath yourself.

10/24/2006: Lab 6 has been announced.

10/16/2006: The suggested home works from Chapters 2-4 are as follows: No need to turn in the practice work. If you have questions on these, please contact the TA.

10/08/2006:    Midterm Test will be held on 10/20/2006. This will cover until the end of the lecture 06 or topics covered in the class until 10/18/2006. 

9/29/2006: (a) The next quiz (#3) on class will be held on Monday October 2, 2006. Scope: Slides covered from Lecture 5- until this Friday (9/29/06).

(b) The Project 1 has been released a few days before the actual release day so that you can start working on it. Read the instructions on the project to complete it.

9/15/2006:         Meet your TAs and discuss your doubts as we move in the course. Do not keep everything towards the end before exams. Regular studies will help you to learn the subject better.

9/15/2006            Second Quiz will be held in the class on Monday (9/18/2006). Scope: 45 slides of the lecture 3 posted in the web that we have completed in the class until 9/15/2006.

9/02/2006                The lab handouts are updated. Feel free to work in advance to meet the tight schedule.

9/01/2006                A quiz will be held in the class on Monday (9/04/2006). Please read first 30 slides of the lecture 02.

8/28/2006               There will not be any labs during the first week of classes.
